Dear colleagues,
With a great pleasure we inform you that the Branch of Veterinary Public Health of the Hellenic Veterinary Medical Society (HVMS) is organizing the 4th HVMS Food Congress which will be held in the new Convention and Cultural Center of Thessaloniki, at 11, 12 and 13 November 2011. With this congress the HVMS brings food to the foreground, raising the successful food symposium 2004 into a modern congress which would be once again the great scientific event in our country. The subject of the congress is "Modern Approach to Food Hygiene and Safety".
The topics that will accompany the conference are: Meat and meat products, Milk and milk products, Fisheries, Public health and Food safety, Plant food and plant products, Feeding stuffs and water, Legislation and Education, Other foods, Laboratory methods, Special topics and Posters (Posters).
Also, during the congress five (5) Round Tables will take place with specific lectures on issues: Food and Public Health, Emerging technologies in food, Food crises, Bioterrorism-Food and Food-Feed-Water.
All lectures and presentations submitted were evaluated by the congress scientific committee of the conference and the authors will be notified of their acceptance soon after the August holidays. For each lecture that will be accepted for presentation and publication in the proceedings at least 1 of the authors has to pre-register.
Dear colleagues, this conference will be a forum for the exchange of ideas and opinions from leading scientists and experts of the food sector from Greece and abroad but also from universities, research centers and government agencies who will share their knowledge and experiences with us and discuss the latest scientific and technological developments.
We invite you to actively participate in the 4th Food Congress of the Hellenic Veterinary Medical Society and to contribute to its success.
